William J. Downes is an experienced litigator who focuses on civil rights litigation with a focus on the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Downes had years of complex litigation experience in New York State courts. Previously, Mr. Downes specialized in complex toxic tort litigation, insurance liability regarding New York State’s Labor Law, and general personal injury.
Mr. Downes received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2014, where he served as Mentoring and Notes Editor for the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. In 2013, he was a student contributor to the Journal of Legal Ethics, authoring the article “Does the ABA Promote Democracy in America?” 26 Geo. J. Legal Ethics 645 (2013).
