Nicollette M. Haines
Nicollette Haines is an Associate Attorney who represents clients in the private and public employment sectors. Her vast experience has focused on workers’ rights pursuant to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the New York State Human Rights Law, the New York City Human Rights Law, and New York labor law.
Throughout her career, Nicollette has handled matters of harassment, discrimination and retaliation, advocating largely for individuals who have faced adversity on the basis of disability, gender and pregnancy, sexual harassment, race, color, national origin, sexual orientation, age, and religion, among other protected classes. She has also represented whistleblowers and employees exercising their rights pursuant to state law and the National Labor Relations Act.
Nicollette has counseled and represented clients on employment matters from inception, at administrative agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the New York City Human Rights Commission, to trials and appeals. She has also favorably resolved cases through mediation and settlement conferences.
Growing up in a union family, Nicollette saw first-hand the hard work and commitment to public service that her father and uncles demonstrated. She understands the importance of a protected workplace for all workers and is dedicated to defending their rights.
